Fassisi® Bovine IgG

Fassisi® Bovine IgG allows you to reliably verify, within 10 minutes, whether passive IgG transfer from the dam to the calf has been successful.

In cases of insufficient IgG transfer or low IgG concentrations, the test allows for the immediate implementation of targeted measures to strengthen the calf’s immunity.

The Fassisi® Bovine IgG is a cost-effective screening tool for the rapid assessment of passive immune transfer. The test has detection limits of 5 mg/mL and 10 mg/mL in serum, plasma, and whole blood: At concentrations below 5 mg/ml, a test line appears, indicating insufficient immune transfer. Between 5 and 10 mg/ml, the line is faint, and it does not appear at values above 10 mg/ml, indicating sufficient IgG transfer.

Inadequate IgG Transfer

Insufficient IgG transfer makes newborn calves susceptible to life-threatening infections such as diarrhea and respiratory infections. These increase mortality and often result in “stunted calves” with impaired development and performance, reduced weight gain, and increased susceptibility to disease later in life.
