Fassisi® Equine IgG

Fassisi® Equine IgG allows for a reliable assessment within 10 minutes of whether passive IgG transfer from the dam to the newborn foal has been successful.

In cases of insufficient IgG transfer or low IgG concentrations, the test allows for the immediate implementation of targeted measures to support the foal’s immunity and ensure its health.

The Fassisi® Equine IgG is a cost-effective screening tool for rapidly assessing IgG concentrations in foals. This competitive test displays a line at IgG concentrations below 400 mg/dl; no line appears at values above 800 mg/dl. This threshold indication allows for a reliable assessment of passive immune transfer and a quick decision regarding necessary measures to boost immunity.

Insufficient IgG Transfer

Insufficient IgG transfer makes newborn foals highly susceptible to infections and other diseases. Deficiencies in immune protection increase mortality and often result in “stunted foals” that grow more slowly, remain more susceptible to disease, and suffer from developmental and performance deficits, which can also compromise their long-term health and potential.
