The Fassisi® FIV Test enables the rapid and reliable detection of antibodies against the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) in whole blood, serum, or plasma.


The test provides an accurate result within 10 minutes, allowing for targeted further diagnostic testing or therapeutic measures to be initiated immediately.

The Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is a lentivirus belonging to the retrovirus family that causes progressive immunosuppression in cats. Transmission occurs primarily through bite wounds. Once infection occurs, the virus persists for life, often with a long asymptomatic phase.

Later, the immunosuppression leads to increased susceptibility to opportunistic infections, chronic inflammation, and neoplastic diseases.

In cases where the result is positive but questionable, it is advisable to confirm the test result with an FIV Western blot. In young cats under 6 months of age, it is possible for a positive result to occur even though the animal is not infected, as the result may be due to maternal antibodies. In such cases, retesting should be performed at a later date.
